Cyanotype Prints

Warmer temperatures and changes to rainfall levels cause disruptions in carefully balanced ecosystems. In these destabilized systems, invasive species that have escaped the natural controls of their home ecosystems are able to outcompete native species.

These prints use the cyanotype process to document invasive species in the Finger Lakes Region. As the same process famously used by Anna Atkins in the 19th century, these images draw connections in time between the natural world and the effects of our human actions on the environment.
